Description:
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine dysfunction of reproductive aged women, as well as being the most common cause of female infertility. The conventional approaches to this highly prevalent condition have changed little during the past decade, despite an abundance of new scientific data and research. Underlying the current epidemic of PCOS are the ubiquitous endocrine disruptors, alterations to the food we consume, and modifications to our sleep/wake schedules – ultimately resulting in the fostering of hormonal dysregulation, gut microbiome dysbiosis, and circadian rhythm disruption. The perfect storm has occurred, affecting the foundational functioning of female bodies, impacting fertility and metabolic health, and promoting the epidemic growth of PCOS. This presentation will review the newest cutting-edged research and its application to the development of natural approaches to optimize the health and reproductive functions of women with PCOS.
