Biography

Jenny is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist, Nationally Certified Diplomat in Oriental Medicine, Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, and certified in Acupuncture Sports Medicine.  She completed a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Five Branches Institute in 2011 with over 3200 hours of comprehensive academic and clinical training in Acupuncture, Herbology, Massage, Western Biomedicine, and Dietetics.  During her training, she apprenticed with local experts Frank He, L.Ac. and Holly Guzman, L.Ac. in fields of orthopedics, neuro-musculo-skeletal issues, internal medicine, immunology, fertility, and women’s health.

     Jenny came to Acupuncture school with a background of training in massage therapy and yoga instruction through Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute, Twin Lakes Healing Arts, and Heartwood Institute, and has been practicing therapeutic bodywork since 2006 using a combination of Swedish, Orthopedic Shiatsu, Tuina, Prenatal, Deep Tissue and Structural Balance.  She enjoys planting seeds of wellness in her patients and empowering people to take an active roll in helping these seeds to grow and flourish.

    Jenny is especially passionate about caring for women in preparation for and during their perinatal year.  In 2010, she completed a Doula training before volunteering as an Acupuncturist and Doula at an all natural birthing and health clinic called Yayasan Bumi Sehat in Bali, Indonesia.  She has studied acupuncture for the childbearing year extensively with pregnancy and childbirth expert Raven Lang, M.S., L.Ac, and with labor and delivery expert Claudia Citkovitz, M.S., L.Ac., at Lutheran Medical Center in New York.  All the while she was becoming a mother herself.  She advanced her studies in the area of fertility through working directly with expert Dr. Angela Wu, L.Ac., in San Francisco, as a practitioner at Revive Acupuncture for Fertility in Fremont, and through becoming a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.  She is a member of Santa Cruz Birth Network and Birthpoint Acupuncture Group.  She strives to help women achieve a safe, healthy, and satisfying transition into motherhood.

     She also enjoys helping patients with pain management, and has completed advanced apprenticeship training and certification with Acupuncture Sports Medicine expert Whitfield Reeves, OMD, L.Ac.

     On a personal note, Jenny comes from a biomedical family lineage, and has a strong passion to learn about her nature and align her life with that nature.  She deeply enjoys being a mama to two wonderful daughters, a beekeeper & gardener, a dancer & singer, a yogini, and one who lives gratefully attuned to the rhythms of the Earth and her wisdom.
