While Traditional Chinese Medicine had been utilized to treat fertility challenges for years, the common approach to addressing these challenges often is often one-dimensional. As there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach, the data proves that we’re better together. As partners, conventional medicine and traditional medicine has the opportunity to capitalize on the synergy of both modalities to improve the outcomes of patients who are experiencing fertility challenges of various types.

Learning Objectives:

  • To provide a framework for partnering with reproductive endocrinologists for an integrative approach to the treatment and management of fertility challenges
  • To define the players
  • To acknowledge the challenges in establishing a bonafide partnership
  • To learn the aspects of integrative health
  • To become familiar with and comfortable utilizing REI vernacular
  • To demonstrate how consistent communication and open dialogue between physicians and practitioners synergistically works to improve the patient outcomes

Laurena White, MD, OBGYN, REI, LAc, Chinese Herbalist Author

Dr. Laurena White has over 15 years of service and experience in the field of women’s health ranging from birth doula to physician including acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She works closely with a team she has carefully chosen to deliver expert care not only to women, but also to couples trying to conceive. Together with the team, Dr. White facilitates the transformation of complex women’s health and fertility challenges. By helping women and couples address the underlying root cause of their condition, her patients begin to flourish without taking unnecessary pharmaceutical medications or having fruitlessly invasive surgical procedures. Laurena has developed purpose-built signature programs that are unique to The Eudaimonia Center. Dr. White integrated her practice by incorporating both allopathic and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment modalities in order to bridge the gaps in women’s healthcare.
